Celebration Service – will be streamed live

Willamette Church will be streaming Jeff’s Celebration service live starting at 3:45 Sunday for those of you out of town or otherwise able to attend. In addition, they will be posting the recorded video in the near future (hopefully later in the week) for you to view after the service. Thank you WCC!

Click here to view the stream at http://www.willamettechurch.com/cumpston/ Please share this link with others you know who are out of town.

For those of you attending, please look for the guides to help you park – Rosemont Ridge Middle School is a great compromise location halfway between the church and the reception. Due to their very small lot at the Adult Community Center, please do not plan on parking or moving your car there.

    Dear Jeff,

I only new you for a short time but the news of your accident caused the sorrow to set in as if I had known you for a long time. I guess I am having another lesson in life…..again…..Life is so short, so get busy with taking care of others, getting to know them and appreciating all of their qualities. I’m definitely not sorrowful for your passing to the other side to be with the Lord because that’s the ultimate goal for all of us. I am sorry though for how your family is missing you and how all of the people you have invested your time with are missing you. I don’t suppose you have ever googled yourself, but man, you should see all of the stuff there is for JEFF CUMPSTON. I only had one short time with you when we were traveling back from the competition in Belleview when you took me up on an offer to ride in my car. I found out all about how much you loved your family and cherished the times you spent together. I am praying for all of those acquainted with you, that they will become acquainted with Jesus just as you were, so when their time comes they will be ready as you were ready.
I’m sure by now you have been welcomed by our savior and king, Jesus Christ. Man, what kind of thing is that? What is it like to be with him face to face? Did you touch Him? Did you fall down, or could you walk to him, could you even look at him? Jeff, if I were there with you could I even breath? Would I even be able to talk? Did everyone cheer when you showed up? I know the Lord was extremely glad to have you with him. I can’t wait for my turn. Until its time for me to go, I’ll keep on trusting, keep on loving, keep on spreading the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ so as many as possible will come to know Jesus and what He wants to give everyone. Jeff, I want to thank you for the inspiration, the wisdom, the generous quantities of time you gave our kids through you dedication and great instruction. I know that there is only 24 hours in a day. Time is one of the most precious things we have to give to others. Sometimes those closest to us end up on the short end of the stick when it comes to getting enough time…..so thanks to your family for all of the time that Jeff spent with our kids instead of yours. I hope there will be opportunities to help in any way I can. I’ll look forward to meeting your family some day and offer assistance in any way I can. Until we do meet, I’ll be praying for them and asking God to keep them well and safe, give them strength to make it through this time of sorrow, and to find the higher level of grace and love that God desires them to have. Thanks, Jeff, for living on such a level that inspired me to be the best dad I could be and to strive to do my best at what ever the Lord has me do.
Terri, please know that even though I have not met you except for when Jeff would make you stand at a concert or to introduce you, like at the farewell tribute, my family is praying for you and Mary and Bryce. You are wise to continue to help others while you are in need yourself. God bless you and your family…and Jeff, I am looking forward to the future time when we will meet again.

    Your short time friend, dw
